Here are some of the office essentials for a physician especially those who work at home on desk like physician advisors doing Utilization Reviews from home. Some of these were used by me and some were shared by our group members.

HERMAN MILLER OFFICE CHAIR: Very comfortable office chair.

CELL PHONE AND TABLET HOLDER: This is one of the sturdiest phone and ipad holders that I ever bought.
In the past I tried a lot of different phone holders and I did not like any of those. This one finally is sturdy, and I really like it to hold my cell phone while I work so that I don’t have to hold my phone every time I use it. I can keep its screen facing me all the time so I can just tap it and use it whenever I need to text or even talk to other physicians.

DUAL COMPUTER SCREEN:
I happened to have my old DELL screen and I bought DVI to HDMI adapter, HDMI cable and connected my desktop to that DELL screen. It works perfectly. You have to do some research and find what kind of screen suits your current computer device you use for your work. Some use USB screen for their laptops.

FOOT MASSAGER: It feels nice to have some foot massage without much effort while sitting and doing your work.
I use this a few times a day while I am working on my desk. I don’t know how this is helping me but it feels nice when I use it.

UNDER DESK TREADMILL:

PORTABLE HEATER: Very useful to make the office space warm enough to focus on your work.
I work out of my master bedroom closet. It’s very convenient for me there as it is cozy. But this winter had some freezing temperatures and I felt cold in my feet. I bought this and it really helped me when it gets too cold. I think this really helps those with really large houses and those who work in basement offices.

ERGONOMIC WIRELESS COMPUTER MOUSE: A nice mouse to reduce stress on your wrist.
Recently, when I was working in my hospital, the floor pharmacist was working with this weird looking computer mouse. I asked her what it was. She said that since she works a lot on computer, she bought this to reduce stress on her wrist and fingers. I immediately ordered it and I am glad I bought it. Initially, I was skeptical if I would get used to this new shape but luckily, I got used to it pretty quick in one day.

Logitech Brio 4K Webcam: This is for those whose computer does not have a good camera.
