’30 Day Challenge’ for Hospitalist Physicians

Hospitalists! Are you ready for a thirty-day challenge to improve yourself. Suggest additions or deletions if you have any.

Here are the components of the challenge.

1Update or improve your EMR templates, EPIC, CERNER
2Read at least one Personal Finance Book. Fire your personal financial advisor.
3Plan an Exercise regimen.
4Plan for passive income stream or nonclinical income.
5At least check your monthly budget once to know how much money is coming and going.
6Make favorite orders saved to make you more efficient while working.
7Create some accounts to do Medical Surveys for hospitalists.
8Start making preparations for your board exam if you are closer to recertification.
9Look for ways to make yourself faster at rounding in the hospital.
10Make your investor policy statement.
11Make sure your bedroom is ideal for a good night sleep.
12Reduce taxes-contribute to 401K, Contribute to Backdoor Roth IRA.
13Open 529 account.
14Complete your required CME for license renewal.
15Plan your Hospital Medicine Conference.
16Get your credit report for free at Annual Credit Report, Freeze your credit report if you want to avoid identity theft.
17Make a nice and efficient Home office if you work from home.
18Save money -Use honey, Rakuten, Ibotta, Drop, Dosh. Cancel unnecessary Subscriptions if you have any.
19Check if your investments are in appropriate type of accounts. Make sure all have beneficiaries updated.
20Try Audible to hear personal finance books on the go. One personal finance book will save a million dollars over our lifetime due to what we learn from the book.
21Protect yourself and your property. Create Trust and Will. Umbrella insurance. Term life insurance, Disability insurance if you have not done already.
22Create an Emergency Fund-HELOC if you have equity in your house.
23Open an account –Cash app or Venmo. These make it easy for peer-to-peer cash transactions. Did you know you can use Venmo to send money, shop, and even earn rewards? We’ll both earn $10 when you send at least $5 to another person on Venmo using a funding source linked to your account. Expires in 14 days.
24If you don’t have enough time, quickly go through personal finance tips for hospitalists.
25Cut down Sugar in your diet. Eat Salad today. Plan healthy eating habits. Plan Intermittent fasting. Cut carbs.
26Plan to save time. Buy Roomba or Robo lawn mower if you spend a lot of time to vacuum and mow.
27Create an LLC if you had been planning on doing one.
28Join Utilization Management/Chart reviews /Physician advisors, CDI, UM if you want a nonclinical job doing utilization Reviews.
29Today, do not do anything unless absolutely necessary. Just REST.
30Make a Legacy folder to let your spouse know where all the important documents are.

I would like to remove some and add more useful challenges if you suggest any. So please suggest better ones that are useful for most hospitalists.
